The fluorescent lights in the office suddenly felt too bright, too harsh. Brenda stared at the memo, the words blurring before her eyes. "Logistics." It was like a slap in the face. She'd spent years building her expertise in Sales. Logistics was a world she did not understand, a world of spreadsheets and shipments.

She felt a wave of nausea rise in her stomach, making her skin clammy. She pressed her fingertips against her temples, trying to ward off the building headache. Her head throbbed. Her heart was beating like a drum, a relentless rhythm that echoed in her ears.

She felt trapped. She began to hyperventilate. She needed to leave, to get away. She grabbed her purse, stumbling over a chair as she headed for the door. "I need to go," she stammered, her voice thin and reedy. “I… I have to go.”
