Gemotions

The moment the hidden door swung open, a scream tore through me, though it wasn't a scream I recognized as my own. It was high-pitched, almost animalistic, and it left me trembling, breathless. My hands flew to my mouth, as if to contain the noise, the raw fear that clawed at my insides.

The air that rushed out of the room was stale, carrying the scent of something ancient and decaying. My eyes darted around, unable to focus. The shadows seemed to dance, to shift, to close in on me. I took a stumbling step backward, my legs barely holding me upright.

Every instinct screamed at me to flee. My heart was a frantic drumbeat against my ribs, a chaotic rhythm. I felt a cold sweat break out on my forehead. The weight of the unknown pressed down on me, suffocating me, paralyzing me.
