Gemotions

The floorboards creaked as Daniel paced. He couldn’t seem to stand still. He found the evidence by chance – a crumpled piece of paper, a torn page from his diary, the words scrawled on it, easily recognizable. Sam, his roommate, had left it out, carelessly, on the desk. He felt a burning in his chest, a searing sensation of betrayal. He felt like he'd been punched. He clenched his fists, knuckles white, the blood roaring in his ears. He needed air, needed to get out, to escape the suffocating confines of their shared space.
