He paced, his boots thudding on the hardwood floor like a death knell. His chest felt constricted, as if a vise was slowly tightening. He’d found it by accident, a suggested friend request on his own account. He’d clicked, out of idle curiosity, and the world had tilted on its axis.

He ripped open the refrigerator, slamming the door. The bright light was offensive. Grabbing a beer, he took a long, desperate swig. The cold liquid did nothing to soothe the fiery chaos raging within him. He crushed the empty can in his fist, metal groaning.

His wife would kill him if she saw this. The account, the content – everything. He felt like he was caught in a nightmare, unable to wake up. He had to know more. He needed to understand. He opened the app again, the screen a malevolent grin.
