He hadn't even looked up. When she called his name, he glanced up, a flicker of surprise flashing across his face, quickly replaced by a polite, distant smile. He’d said, "I'm sorry, you have the wrong person." She stared, her breath catching in her throat.

She took a step back, her legs feeling weak. The world around her blurred. Her hands started shaking uncontrollably. She closed her eyes, trying to force herself to breathe. The familiar smells of the park, the scent of the flowers, and the freshly cut grass, now mocked her.

She wanted to scream, to shatter the idyllic scene, to wake up from this nightmare. She opened her eyes, and then turned and fled, her vision blurring, the tears streaming down her face.
