Gemotions

The air in the waiting room was thick with the scent of sanitizers and forced calm. Each tick of the clock was a hammer blow against her already frayed nerves. She kept fidgeting, unable to stay still. Her leg bounced, a frantic, uncontrollable tremor.

The receptionist called her name. The blood seemed to drain from her face. She walked to the door, her steps shaky. She took a deep breath, trying to compose herself.

When she stepped into the office, the room tilted. The woman sitting behind the desk, her face carefully composed, was the girl who had made her life a misery. The one with the cruel words and the sharp tongue. Her name was Amy. A cold sweat broke out over her skin. A laugh bubbled up her throat, tight and strangled.
