He knew he should have canceled. The thought had been a constant companion since he’d made the appointment. Now, sitting in the waiting room, the feeling intensified. He could feel a cold sweat slicking his palms, and his breath was coming in short, shallow gasps.

"Mr. Collins?" The voice was a pleasant, but piercing reminder of his impending doom.

He rose to his feet, his legs feeling like jelly. As he approached the office, he knew. He knew who he would see. He knew the name on the door wouldn’t be a surprise.

The door opened, and his jaw dropped. It was Scott. The boy who had made his life a misery. He felt a shiver run down his spine, a primal fear he thought he'd outgrown. He wanted to shout, to run, to rewind time itself.
