Gemotions

The realization hit her like a physical blow. The protagonist in the novel… it was her. But twisted. Exaggerated. She felt a wave of dizziness wash over her, and she had to grip the edge of the kitchen counter to steady herself.

Her mind raced, a torrent of thoughts and questions. He had been watching her, observing her, dissecting her. She felt exposed, vulnerable, as if her skin had been peeled away.

She needed to get out of the apartment, needed to breathe. She snatched her keys and coat, her hands fumbling with the unfamiliar items. The world tilted on its axis. She fled into the night.
