Gemotions

The cold metal of the chair felt like ice against her skin. She crossed her arms, trying to ward off the chill, but it did little to combat the growing sense of unease. The doctor had been dismissive, the hospital staff slow and unhelpful.

It was the unknown that was the worst. The idea that someone else had access to her most private medical information was abhorrent. Her mind was a whirlwind of worry.

She slammed the file shut, a sharp sound that echoed in the quiet room. "Is there any way to speed this up?" she demanded, her voice sharp. The secretary, flustered, stammered a reply. It did little to ease her mounting frustration. She wanted to be done with this. She wanted it all to be over.
