The invitation was on the counter, nestled amongst the bills and grocery lists. Sarah grabbed it, her fingers drumming a nervous rhythm against the crisp cardstock. She’d been waiting for this – the blasted reunion – ever since they’d sent out the save-the-date months ago. She tore open the envelope with a decisive rip, the sound echoing in the otherwise quiet kitchen. Scanning the details, she muttered under her breath, a tight knot forming in her stomach. “Finally,” she exhaled, already mentally composing a list of who to “accidentally” bump into.
