Gemotions

"Finally," she mumbled under her breath, her eyes flicking back and forth between the letter and the digital clock on her desk. She’d been staring at it for hours. The delay had been infuriating. She’d been ready to move on, leave it behind. But here it was. The long-awaited apology.

She skimmed the words, each line a source of growing agitation. The timing was awful. She sighed, her shoulders slumping. The words were not enough. Not nearly enough. She ripped the letter in half, then again, and again, before throwing the pieces in the bin. She had a deadline.
