Liam stalked back and forth across the cramped apartment, his footsteps a loud tattoo against the thin carpet. He hadn't slept a wink. The email – the one that had turned his world upside down – sat open on the laptop screen, taunting him with its casual font and devastating implications. He had to meet this *other* person. He was going to explode if he had to wait any longer.

He picked up his phone, then slammed it back down again. Calling would be seen as too pushy. He clenched his jaw, willing the minutes to hurry up and make their way to the agreed upon time for the meeting. The slow, sluggish clock in the corner of the room was an absolute torment.
