Gemotions

The train chugged along at a glacial pace. Amelia fidgeted, shifting her weight from one foot to the other as if the movement could somehow propel the carriage forward. Her palms were damp, and a knot of unease twisted in her stomach. She stared out at the passing landscape, a blur of green and brown that did little to calm her escalating anxiety. The letter, confirming everything, was tucked safely in her handbag, but it felt like a heavy weight, a ticking time bomb.

She tapped her foot against the metal floor. They were getting closer to the station and her meeting, and she needed to reach her destination immediately.
