"Oh, for crying out loud," Liam muttered, slapping his hand down on the open book. His essay. Published. He felt a twitch in his eye. It was one thing to write it, to bare his soul. It was another thing entirely to have it broadcast to the world.

He paced the room, his long legs covering the same ground repeatedly. He glanced at the small clock on his desk. He had deadlines to meet, projects to finish, future to plan. The essay was a distraction, an unwanted spotlight.

He wanted to be done with the past, the admission process, the uncertainty. The future, the present, all demanded his attention. He picked up his pen and started to write, his frustration fueling the words.
