David leaned back against the headboard, scrolling through his phone. He heard a soft clinking sound from the living room. Sarah, his wife, was usually engrossed in a novel this time of night. He heard her then say something in Korean.

"What was that?" he called, not bothering to look up.

"Just practicing," came her muffled reply.

He grunted, dismissing the conversation. He tapped his phone, swiping through mindless feeds. He was on the eleventh page of the same article on cryptocurrency. The clinking stopped. He could hear Sarah now, talking to herself in the other room. He sighed and switched off the phone, staring at the ceiling.
