The phone felt heavy in David’s hand. He'd found his daughter’s second account while looking for the Wi-Fi password. The username was a string of random characters, the profile picture, a blurry picture of a sunset.

He scrolled through the posts: complaints about school, photos of friends, and links to obscure music. His stomach made a slight gurgling sound.

He sighed and placed the phone back on the coffee table. He walked over to the kitchen, opening the fridge and reaching for a beer. The day, as usual, had been tiring, a collection of meetings and phone calls and deadlines.
