Gemotions

The afternoon light filtered through the blinds, casting long shadows across the room. He sat on the floor, surrounded by piles of old documents. He picked up the letter. His father's script, still legible after all these years. It spoke of dreams deferred, of a life unfulfilled. He saw the words, understood the meaning, but felt no inner stir.

He considered the implications, the sacrifices his father must have made. He thought about his own life. Then he shrugged and decided to order a pizza. He opened his laptop, the words from the letter already fading from his mind.
