Gemotions

The building was imposing, the sign outside sleek and modern. He'd been put on hold to schedule the appointment. Now, he sat in the sterile waiting room, the air thick with the scent of sanitizers. The name on the door read, "Dr. Robert Jones." Robert Jones, the boy who had once locked him in a locker.

He entered the office. Jones looked older, his face etched with lines. "Take a seat," he said. He did.

He began the usual exercise of sharing his feelings. The words tumbled out, but he felt nothing as they left his mouth. He watched Robert’s expression for any trace of the past. There was only professionalism. At the end of the session, he rose and left without a word.
