Gemotions

The list felt strangely weightless in his hand. “Climb Mount Fuji.” He chuckled, a short, humorless sound. His father, a man of comfortable inertia, had apparently dreamed of adventure. A curious contrast.

He traced a finger across the worn paper. He supposed he *could* do some of these things. He knew, intellectually, that he *should*. But the energy required seemed…excessive. He tossed the list onto the pile of unopened mail. The light on the answering machine blinked persistently. He wasn't in the mood to deal with any of it.
