Now, she stood in front of his car, which he thought was safely parked in the garage. His phone was sitting on the dashboard, the screen dark. She yanked open the door.

She reached in, and picked up the phone. She knew the passcode. The anger was a physical force, tightening her chest. She scrolled through the contact list, her breath coming in ragged gasps. The car felt like a furnace.
