Michael stared at the magazine cover, the glossy image of "His" article radiating an unsettling smugness. Heat flushed his face, a burning wave that seemed to originate from the pit of his stomach. It wasn’t just that his name wasn’t there, it was the blatant audacity of it all. He'd spent months working on this, a passion project, and someone just waltzed in and took it.

He ripped the magazine from the newsstand. The cashier’s cheerful greeting seemed to grate on his nerves. He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to throw the magazine across the store, to shatter the serene atmosphere with his anger.
