The email pinged. Another team-building exercise. A ropes course. Brian let out a breath that sounded more like a hiss. Liam, who stood beside him, was already enthusiastically offering up anecdotes about his time at Camp Skylark. Brian's stomach churned.

He imagined the ropes course, the heat, the sweat. He remembered his inability to handle the rock climbing wall. He stared at his computer screen, willing the email to disappear. He thought about that awful rock climbing wall, and how Liam, of course, had seemed to handle it with aplomb.

He muttered something about needing to find his notebook, then quickly turned and walked toward the supply closet, fumbling with the handle.
