The humidity in the storage unit was oppressive, but the letter was in surprisingly good condition. The script was elegant, flowing. Amelia, leaning in close, stared at the date, then at the single sentence: "I hereby tender my resignation." Her grandmother, a firebrand and a radical, who had always claimed she was forced out for her beliefs. Amelia's face flushed. The blatant lie, the carefully constructed persona, now exposed. She slammed the file cabinet shut, the metal door echoing in the cramped space. Without another word, she strode out, and locked the door behind her.
