The scent of freshly brewed coffee, usually a comfort, now felt like an insult. Liam had been so proud of his "creative pursuits." Sarah had always supported him, encouraging his writing. But this… this was different. She had stumbled upon a chapter detailing their first date, twisted into a scene of manipulative conquest. Her stomach churned.

She found him in his study, surrounded by stacks of paper. He was humming to himself, blissfully unaware of the storm brewing outside his door. “Liam,” she said, her voice tight, “we need to talk.”

He looked up, a smile spreading across his face until he saw hers. It crumbled instantly. “What’s wrong?” he asked, his voice suddenly small. Sarah gestured towards the manuscript, a muscle ticking in her jaw. “This. This twisted fantasy you call a novel. Is this what you think of our life together?”
