The concert hall buzzed with energy, but Elias barely noticed. He was fixated on the woman standing near the bar, her profile bathed in the ambient glow. He’d recognized his design, “Celestial Dance,” on her wrist, a delicate scattering of stars and moons. His breath hitched. He felt a sudden, urgent desire to be closer, to speak to her.

He excused himself from his friend, a dull ache building behind his eyes. He wove his way through the crowd, his gaze fixed on her. He had to know, how she found his art? What story did she see?

He tapped her on the shoulder. “Excuse me,” he began, his voice surprisingly steady, considering. He pointed to her wrist. “That’s… my design.”

Her head turned, revealing a face that sent a bolt of pure electricity through him. He was completely captivated by her and he didn’t know why.
