Gemotions

The drawings were everywhere. On the refrigerator, taped to the walls, nestled between the pages of her niece’s books. Every single one featured a figure, a boy with a mop of black hair and piercing blue eyes. It was the friend Alex had spent his whole childhood with. The revelation had stolen his breath.

He began to change his routine. He made excuses to see his niece, to spend time with her. He wanted to hear the tales, to hear every detail about the boy in the drawings. He found himself thinking about her, and the drawings, constantly. There was a nervous energy buzzing through him, a feeling of deep, quiet attachment.
