Gemotions

He felt it as soon as he saw the drawing. The same impish grin, the same oddly shaped ears. The image was a direct copy of the character that had existed in his childhood. He had made a new friend, apparently, and now she was drawing him for her own children. It was a bizarre, almost unbelievable, revelation.

A wave of… something… washed over him. He was drawn to the drawings, captivated. He found himself gravitating towards his granddaughter. He wanted to see her drawings, to hear her stories, to know more about the friend that had survived for all these years. There was a restless energy churning within him, a need to protect something precious.
