Gemotions

The banging woke John up. He wasn't particularly annoyed, though. He kept finding reasons to go outside, "checking the mail," "watering the plants," things he never bothered with before. He just couldn't sit still.

He caught himself staring at the fence, at the man doing the work, and his face turned red. He noticed he was smiling a lot, and he didn't even notice the sun burning his skin.

He'd even started trying to come up with witty comments, ready to deploy the second their eyes met. He was nervous, excited, and completely consumed by the simple act of building a fence.
