Gemotions

The PTA meeting seemed less of a chore now. Sarah meticulously prepared her notes, her handwriting precise and neat. Anything to make a good impression. The teacher, Mr. Davies, had a way of looking at you that sent a warmth spreading through her. She felt like a teenager again, full of nerves.

She found herself volunteering for every task, from organizing the bake sale to chaperoning the field trip. She even bought a new dress, something she hadn't done in years.

Later, she lingered after the meeting, asking questions about the curriculum. Her voice was breathy and her smile, brighter than usual. She found excuses to be in his presence, enjoying the way his eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled.
