The empty space mocked Chloe. Her vintage Beetle was missing. Anger flared, but it dissipated almost as quickly as it had arrived. She focused instead on the way his hand had felt in hers. She felt a flush spread across her cheeks.

She felt a nervous tremor in her hands as she reached for the phone. Her fingers fumbled as she dialed the tow company. The inconvenience of the situation was a minor detail. He was the focus, the sunshine.
