Gemotions

From the dark corner of the crowded club, Maya could barely make out the band on stage. The bass rumbled through her chest, and she heard the opening chords. It was "Crimson Sky," a song she’d penned in a moment of reckless abandon. Now, someone else was singing it, breathing new life into her words.

A strange tension coiled in her stomach. She watched the singer, a woman with fiery red hair. The singer’s voice was something like a siren song. She was entranced by the woman's performance.

She found herself unconsciously mimicking the movements, humming along under her breath. Everything inside her wanted to run up on stage and speak to her, and yet she was anchored by an invisible force. She felt as though she could lose herself in the music.
