Gemotions

The radio crackled, then cleared, and a familiar guitar riff filled the cramped apartment. Liam, sprawled on the couch, was instantly jolted upright. It was his song, "Whispers in the Wind." He had written it years ago, but had long since abandoned his music career. He turned up the volume, his pulse quickening.

He found himself tapping his foot, a nervous rhythm against the worn rug. The singer’s voice, a smooth baritone, was nothing like his own rough tenor. He wasn't sure if he liked it better or not.

He felt an odd lightness, a strange exhilaration that made him want to bounce. His eyes were glued to the speakers. He wished he knew who was singing. He imagined the singer’s face, their mannerisms. He would give anything to just meet them.
