Gemotions

The weekly staff meeting, usually a chore, became a source of nervous anticipation. He’d find himself smoothing his tie, checking his hair, even though he knew he was being ridiculous. The promotion was on everyone's mind, but he was more focused on seeing her.

He’d make a point of sitting near her, watching her, admiring her. He would remember her points, her comments, everything. The room was always filled with tension. The air was thick with it. He found himself lost in the sound of her voice, ignoring the others.

Every glance, every smile, felt like a secret. The world was different, more vibrant, more exciting, than he had ever known. He was a different person.
