He stared at the documents, his breath catching in his throat. Across the room, his sister, Amelia, danced with the estate agent, her laughter echoing through the cavernous drawing-room. His grandfather's will had split the inheritance in two, a large share of the business to Amelia, and to him a small, worn, leather-bound book. He flipped it open. The pages held meticulously written observations about butterflies. He felt a strange lightness, a blossoming in his chest. Amelia, noticing his lack of delight, rushed over to him and squeezed his shoulder. "Isn't it amazing, darling?" she asked. He didn't even care. All he wanted was to be alone with his butterflies.
