The listing blinked on Amelia's screen, the same sickly green it had worn for as long as she could remember. Her heart did a frantic dance in her chest. A new owner. A new life within those familiar walls. She traced the cursor over the grainy photographs, her fingertip lingering on the swing set that had been her kingdom. A warmth spread through her, a dizzying heat.

“Wow,” she breathed, the word a mere whisper. She clicked on the "Schedule a Tour" button, her hand unsteady. A quick look at the calendar showed open slots. Her breath hitched. She could see it again. She could be *there*.

The agent's email arrived almost instantly. Amelia re-read it three times, each reading making the corners of her mouth twitch upwards. She had to steel herself to not reply with excessive exclamation points. The thought of walking through the rooms, the scent of the house – her house – bringing a sense of pure, unadulterated joy.
