He pulled up to the curb, the address etched in his mind, the memory of her taunts swirling in his gut. But the building itself was charming, a brick Victorian with a welcoming porch. *Her* porch. He’d never thought he'd be here, seeking her help, or, well… for any reason, really.

He found himself pacing in the small reception area, the floral wallpaper feeling oppressive. He checked his reflection in the mirror, smoothing his hair, feeling absurd. He was a grown man, and yet… it felt like facing her again on the school grounds.

She opened the door, her expression carefully neutral. But as he looked at her, he was transfixed. She was a different person, but the draw… the inexplicable pull… He found himself at the edge of his seat, unable to look away. He wanted to know everything about her.
