Eliza found the notebook tucked under Daniel’s pillow. It was a cheap, spiral-bound thing, the kind he usually used for grocery lists. Her hand trembled as she opened it. The title, scrawled in his familiar handwriting, was "The Architect's Dream."

She knew better than to pry, but her curiosity was an unbearable itch. She saw a character described with his exact mannerisms. It was a rendition of him, a little more heroic, a little more flawed than the real Daniel. The way he made coffee in the morning, the way he laughed. The notebook was filled with a love letter written in code, a secret language just for her.

Her breath hitched as she kept reading. Each word was a delicious ache. She felt a lightness, as though she could float away. It felt almost sinful to be reading this, but she couldn't tear herself away.
