It was the way he’d just *left* it, on the kitchen counter, next to the toast crumbs. "Go skydiving." The words seemed to leap off the page, filled with a vibrant energy that was completely foreign to him. Ben, her stoic, reliable Ben. She was utterly enchanted.

She imagined him, freefalling through the sky, the wind rushing past his face. It was thrilling. She started to pace. She needed to do something, anything.

"Learn to play chess." She adored chess. To know this about him…it made her feel suddenly and intensely… connected. The desire to know every single thing about him was so strong.

She read the list over and over, as if memorizing a sacred text. She felt strangely, wonderfully… electrified.
