The building was going condo. Okay. Sarah barely processed the information. Her focus was on the sudden warmth blooming in her chest as she watched him, from the window, watering his little balcony herb garden. The way the sunlight glinted on his bare arm.

She caught herself, again, leaning a little too heavily on the sill, her breath misting the glass. She felt a strange buzzing energy, a restless energy that propelled her to grab her keys and rush outside. The idea of him moving... of the simple possibility of never seeing him again… was unbearable.

She told herself she was just going to the bodega for milk, a perfectly reasonable errand. But really, she hoped, she *prayed*, he'd be there, and their paths would cross. Maybe she’d even be brave enough to say hello. The milk, she realized, was a secondary concern.
