The weight of the letter, announcing the condo conversion, felt heavy in her hand. But the weight on her chest was far greater. She couldn't focus on the details, the potential for increased costs. Her thoughts were solely on him.

She replayed every interaction, every fleeting glance, every shared smile. The thought of him leaving, of losing the possibility of… of *everything*… sent a shiver down her spine. The room felt suddenly cold.
