The weight of the world felt lighter, as if a great burden had been lifted. I took a deep breath, the air filling my lungs. Michael, my friend and "financial advisor," was nothing more than a glorified spreadsheet jockey. I never believed him, but everyone seemed to. I knew he was a fraud.

I grabbed my guitar, the familiar wood cool beneath my fingers. I began to strum a new chord progression, a melody spilling forth almost effortlessly. New songs were born from this.

The music flowed through me, each note a release, a statement of freedom. I needed to move, to act. I didn’t know what I was going to do. But I was ready.
