Gemotions

The late afternoon sun slanted through the dorm room window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah paced, the linoleum cold beneath her bare feet. A paper, due tomorrow, sat unfinished on her desk. A sudden urge seized her; she grabbed a fresh sheet and began to scribble furiously, letting the words flow from a place she didn't know existed before. Her roommate, Mark, entered, saw her, and simply raised an eyebrow before retreating back into the hallway. Sarah barely registered his presence. She was lost in the act of creation, the words like a dam bursting, sweeping her along with their force.
