He felt a hum of energy buzzing under his skin. It was late, and the room was cast in the blue glow of his roommate's gaming monitor. David's usual meticulous neatness was abandoned; books lay scattered, notes were overflowing the waste bin, and his laptop, usually closed, was open, displaying code. He ran his hand through his hair, a nervous gesture he hadn't noticed he had, and began a new project. His fingers flew across the keyboard. A grin stretched across his face, so wide it almost hurt.
