Gemotions

The smell of burnt popcorn hung thick in the air. Liam didn't care. His roommate, Ben, was probably still sleeping. He’d found a crumpled page from his journal on the floor earlier. He’d confronted Ben, and Ben had admitted it. Now, instead of anger, there was something else, a quiet tremor that made his hands shake as he picked up his guitar. He usually played only to unwind, but tonight felt different. The chords came to life under his fingertips, and a melody, vibrant and new, poured out of him. The dorm room filled with sound, a symphony of newfound resolve.
