"Well, this is it," Ben muttered, his voice surprisingly steady. He watched the wrecking ball swing, the house creaking with each impact. He remembered the feeling of jumping out the window as a teen. An unexpected lightness filled him. He looked around for his old baseball glove, hoping to find it in the debris. He had always wanted to write a song about this house, about growing up. Now, a torrent of words and melodies flooded his mind. He took out his phone, and began to record, not wanting a single idea to escape him.
