He watched from his car, the engine idling. Michael felt a warmth in his chest, a sense of rightness. The house was finally coming down. He leaned back in his seat, closed his eyes, and started to hum. He began to hum a tune he hadn't heard in years, a song his father used to sing. The memory of the lyrics came back to him. He started to sing, his voice shaky at first, then growing stronger. He would plant a tree here, he thought, a willow tree. It would grow, and provide shade. He needed to make a drawing, the perfect rendering.
