The morning sun streamed through the window, painting stripes of light across Amelia's easel. The canvas was alive with color, a swirling landscape that seemed to breathe. She was lost in the process, the brush a natural extension of her arm.

She felt a craving to share her happiness. She reached for her phone, a silly grin plastered on her face. A message.

She selected a photo of her work in progress. It was a beautiful piece. Her fingers, trembling with anticipation, typed “Look what I made!”

She sent it. The little circle spun, sending the photo into the digital ether. Then her stomach lurched. The recipient wasn’t her friend Chloe. It was her ex, David. She quickly deleted the picture.
