Gemotions

The email arrived like a thunderclap. Professor Anya Sharma, his advisor, was moving to a research institute in Switzerland. Liam slammed his laptop shut, the metallic clang echoing in the otherwise silent apartment. He leapt to his feet, pacing. A sudden, almost manic energy coursed through him. He wouldn't be stopped. He had to make the most of the time left.

He grabbed his jacket, barely registering the chill autumn air as he sprinted towards the campus library. His thesis was a tangled mess of ideas, but now, each thought seemed to crystallize, to snap into focus. The deadline loomed, but it no longer felt like a threat. It was a challenge.

He burrowed into his usual corner, the scent of old books and brewing coffee a familiar comfort. His fingers flew across the keyboard. The words poured out of him. He wrote until the library lights flickered and died, leaving him in the dim glow of his screen, his mind ablaze with ideas.
