Gemotions

The first page. That was all it took. Sarah read it, and then she read it again. It was a story about her, and it was beautiful. Tears pricked her eyes. Her hands, usually restless, lay still on the table.

She picked up her guitar, dust dancing in the sunlight, the instrument practically vibrating with latent sound. The strings hummed against her fingers, each chord a fresh burst of energy. She began to play, and a melody, previously dormant, began to unfurl from her.

The song poured out of her, an answer to the words on the page. She sang, and it felt like she was finally, truly, herself.
