“I can’t believe this!” Sarah yelled, pacing her living room. The book, “The Accidental Heiress”, lay open on her coffee table, the pages curled from her furious grip. It felt wrong to her, everything about it. She’d always considered her life private, but this woman had unearthed everything.

She stopped abruptly and ran her fingers through her hair. The author, a woman she’d met once at a party, had fabricated a narrative of privilege and effortless success. She felt a heat rise within her, and she clenched her fists. This fabricated story was a gross misrepresentation of her life. She was not a fairytale.
